Material Handler

The Role:

​

Paris Orthotics Ltd. is a busy local custom orthotics manufacturer, (located at 3630 East 1st Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5M 1C3) looking to fill a permanent full-time position of Material Handler to join our Vancouver Manufacturing Lab.

 

The hours would be Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:15pm

​

Job Duties will include, but not limited to:

​

Receiving duties:

​

  • Receives all raw materials

  • Validates packing slips upon arrival of material

  • Ensures materials are put away in an orderly fashion

 

Material preparation duties: 

​

  • Cuts raw stock into usable WIP material

  • Glues material as needed

  • Communicates with Purchaser regarding any material shortages

  • Monitors Kanban levels

  • Fulfills external bulk material orders

​

Maintenance duties:​

​

  • Maintains dock and garbage bin areas

  • Maintains working condition of equipment in material prep area

  • Organizes storage and disposal of slipper and plaster casts and foam boxes

  • Maintains warehouse material area

 

Shipping duties:

​

  • Packages raw material to be sent out for custom cutting and abrading as specified by Purchaser

​

These responsibilities will require the following:

​

  • Reading/Writing comprehension

    • Organization and prioritization capability

    • Attention to detail

    • Verbal communication in English externally and internally

    • Computer skills

    • Lift up to 25lbs to 30lbs

  • Motor skills to use:

    • Bandsaw

    • Table saw

    • Baldor grinder

    • Xactoknife

    • Pencil, Ruler

    • Spray gun

    • Die cutter

  • Exposure to:

    • Fine dust

    • Toluene fumes

What we offer:

​

  • Health Benefits available after completing 3-month probation.

  • Wage: $20.00/hour -$21.00/hour

​
